21 Jul Guest blog… A knight in shining armour

Saturday was a lovely summer’s day here in beautiful middle England.  So I decided that I would take my family to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a delicious “waffle and Gelato” brunch in our favourite café and a walk along the picturesque River Avon.

Whilst walking through the bustling town we came upon some performing street artists, all of which were really good.  There was the usual William Shakespeare, as you are probably all aware Stratford is the birth place of William Shakespeare, but there was also a magnificent knight in full costume looking resplendent and every bit “a knight in shining armour”.  It just made my heart sing to see this display, to know that our history is just as much alive today as it was in medieval times when knights were common place riding round our beautiful countryside doing the kings work and helping to protect us all and fight for our freedom.
