(1) Eighteen lords of Rickerscote are known starting with Edwin, Earl of Mercia. His brother was Earl of Northumbria and the two combined their armies in order to repel raiders. (2) The eighteenth lord is convicted of treason and sentenced to be hung drawn and quartered but King Charles shows leniency and commutes his sentence to beheading.
