In 1086 the COLMWORTH MANOR was held by Hugh de Beauchamp, and the overlordship remained with the barony of Bedford (q.v.). In 1265 it passed to Ela de Beauchamp, co-heir of John, the last feudal baron, and followed the same descent as that portion of the barony (q.v.), the last mention of it being found in 1515.
