Henry Blankfront held 1 virgate of land in Potsgrove of the barony of Bedford at the time of the Testa. (fn. 47) By 1275 it had passed to Edmund Everard, who in 1286 was fined for holding a whole knight's fee when he was not yet a knight. Traces of the barony of Bedford paramountcy in this parish are found as late as 1500.
