In the 15th century another manor appears in Kempston in the tenure of Thomas Stafford of Tattenhoe, Buckinghamshire, by whom it was conveyed to his nephew William Stafford and Jane his wife. The Stafford family, from whom it acquired the name of STAFFORD MANOR, held it till 1563, when it was alienated by Thomas Stafford to Thomas Ashfield, and there is no further mention of it until 1685, when it was in the possession of Guy Hillersdon. His kinsman Michael Hillersdon was holding it in 1720, after which date there is no further mention of it.
