4th Lord – John Pyne is elected a Member of Parliament for Pool, Dorset.  John was educated at the Middle Temple and elopes to marry Eleanor Hanham.  To celebrate his marriage he gives his constituents £50 to provide a stock for the poor.  John is one of the first to take up arms in the Civil War.  He goes on to govern Somerset during the Commonwealth, however he refuses to serve the Protectorate (Oliver Cromwell).  John is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament for Somerset.
