1st Lord – Saxi of Clatford was the pre-Conquest Lord of Hartley Dummer.

3rd Lord – Giles Bridport, Archdeacon of Berkshire, who became Bishop of Salisbury.  He bestowed Hartley Dummer on his College of St Nicholas de Vaux at Salisbury.

5th Lord – After the Dissolution of the Monasteries King Henry VIII granted Hartley Dummer to Sir John Williams, who became Lord Williams of Thame.

6th Lord – Henry Norreys, Baron Norreys of Rycote was lord by the right of his wife Margery.

7th Lord – Sir Edward Norreys.

8th Lord – Francis Norreys, who was created Earl of Berkshire.  He committed the crime of elbowing Lord Scrope in the presence of King James I and is sent to the fleet.  His estates are confiscated and he felt so disgraced that he kills himself with a crossbow.
