10th Lord – Sir Richard Coxe of Porters served in the royal palace as taster for Queen Elizabeth I and King James I. He also served as one of King James’ Clerks of the Green Cloth (a department in the royal household with control of expenditure and with legal authority within the court). When Sir Richard died he was interred in Westminster Abbey.
