(1) Offord pre-dates the Norman Conquest, the Lord was a local man, Waga (a freeman) of Wootton. (2) After the Conquest Offord is granted to Robert de Stafford, Baron Stafford. He also held 130 other lordships and was appointed High Sheriff of Staffordshire. (3) William Blancfront is holding a share of Offord at the beginning of the fourteenth century. In 1322 he is appointed Coroner of Warwickshire.
