At the Survey of 1086 STEVINGTON MANOR, assessed at 3 hides, belonged to Count Eustace of Boulogne, and is subsequently found attached to the honour of Boulogne. In the 13th century the Count of Guînes held it as part of this honour, to which the vill of Stevington was declared to be attached in 1278–9. After the 13th century Stevington Manor is merely declared to be held in chief.
