In the 16th century the Latton family was in possession of an estate in Lockinge called LATTONS. It included a capital messuage and various lands. John Latton, who died about 1595, was succeeded by William, who sold the estate to Richard Allen in 1600. He conveyed it three years later to Francis Moore, and it became attached to the manor of West Lockinge, which it followed in descent.
