Previous Lords:
A second manor in Maulden parish known later as RAGONS MANOR was held at the Survey by Walter Gifard, and was assessed at 3 hides. In the Confessor's time this land had been held by Alwin brother of Bishop Wlui. Unlike most of the lands of Walter Gifard, which on the death of his son without heirs passed to the family of the Earl of Pembroke, his Maulden estate became annexed to the barony of Wahull, of which it was held in the early 13th century. The overlordship of this manor remained attached to the barony of Wahull, and is last mentioned in 1428.
