Become the 21st Baron and Baroness of Staveley
1st Baron – Hascuil Musard fights with William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings and is rewarded with 25 manors from six counties. Hascuil builds a motte and bailey castle at Staveley. He also serves as a men-at-arms under Stephen, Earl of Richmond. Before the 12th century he becomes bishop and abbot of Ely.
2nd Baron – Richard Musard builds a motte and bailey castle at Misarden overlooking the River Frome. It had an 18 meter-wide shell keep, protected by a stone wall and moat.
4th Baron – Ralph Musard serves as High Sheriff of Gloucestershire.
9th Baron – Nicholas Musard dies leaving Staveley in moieties (shares) to his sisters of their heirs).
Joint 10th Baron – Ralph de Frescheville is summoned to Parliament as Baron Staveley. Ralph is elected a Knight of the Shire and Member of Parliament for Derbyshire.
