Become the 14th Baron and Baroness of Great Weldon

1st Baron – Robert de Buci accompanies William the Conqueror to England.  For his loyalty he is granted Great Weldon with lordships from Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

2nd Baron -Ralph Basset is Justiciar of all England and is described as “a lawgiver, statesman and unsullied judge”.

3rd Baron – Richard Basset is appointed Justiciar of England by King Henry I.  Richard serves as High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Surrey.

9th Baron – Richard Basset fights with the Duke of Pembroke against the Scots.  He is taken prisoner after the Battle of Bannockburn and dies.
