10th Lord – Baron Cobham, whose family home was Sterborough Castle.

12th Lord – Ralph, 2nd Earl of Westmorland by the right of his wife Margaret.

14th Lord – Sir Thomas Cawarden, Member of Parliament for Bletchingley and Master of Revels and Tents (responsible for organising royal festivities and tents for troops).  Sir Thomas is appointed High Sheriff of Surrey and Sussex.  Later he is appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Surrey.  Sir Thomas is implicated in the Dudley Plot to replace Queen Mary with Elizabeth and rob the Exchequer.  He is arrested but supplies a bond to stay out of prison.
